Acts of Courage: Mrs. Fe’s Journey of Compassion and Resilience

Mrs. Fe Quiocho who lives near the river, a teacher at Pantay Tamurong Elementary School , who had been teaching for almost 29 years. A teacher who always teaches the student how to be safe during natural disasters.  She experienced and faced the super typhoon yolanda

The wind got stronger  and the rain came down , until their home and the river near them had flooded. Mrs.Fe felt so scared that she organized their go bag incase of emergency.  She gathered her family and stayed at tge second floor of their house.

Suddenly , she heard people calling for help. A group of construction workers were trapped in a nearby building , surrounded by the rising flood waters. Mrs. Fe knew that they had to do something.  They encouraged the workers to stay in their home temporarily just to be safe.

She didn't only prepare her family for the storm but opened her home for the construction workers who were trapped by the rising floodwaters. Her kindness and compassion,  strong sense of community, and willingness to help those in need.

            The construction workers, grateful for Mrs. Fe's help, offered to assist her family in moving their belongings to safety. This shared struggle brought them closer, the strength found in working together during difficult times.

As the time passed by , the floodwaters kept rising. And post's on social media's are all about those people who are seeking for help . Mrs. Fe couldn't help but nervously thinking about the situations of the peoples and shared her prayers.

The storm had caused a lot of damage . Many people were hurt, farmers lost their crops, and livestock were affected. Mrs. Fe realized  that living near the river and sea they were always at risk of flood.

            Mrs. Fe's role as a teacher extends beyond the classroom. She uses her knowledge and skills to guide her community towards a safer and stronger future. Her efforts to disseminate information about the situations during the typhoon and offer words of encouragement ,her commitment to helping others recover from the typhoon Egay.

            Mrs. Fe's actions show that disaster can be a catalyst for strength, resilience, and community unity. By working together and supporting one another, communities can overcome challenges and rebuild stronger than before.
